Haley is a native of Birmingham, Ala., where she attended Spain Park High School, then went on to attend and graduate from Auburn University with a degree in public relations and emphases in marketing and management. Haley came to work for Walls Media in 2013 as the Public Relations and Social Media Coordinator and has just celebrated her second anniversary with the company. Haley handles accounts for both Weezie B. Designs and Walls Media and is the “man behind the camera” as our resident social media gal! (All of our individual pictures were taken by our awesome boss, Lee Walls – Walls Photos, and we are so grateful that he has shared his talent with us)
What are your favorite pastimes or hobbies?
I really enjoy going on walks or runs in and around Birmingham. I can take the same path for a week straight and always find something new! Matt and I really enjoy living the simple life in Homewood, especially on those nights when we can walk to Edgewood for dinner and of course dessert after at either Edgewood Creamery or Steel City Pops. I love the food that we get to enjoy together, but it’s on nights like those that I mostly enjoy the conversations we have. I am also a lover of all things Auburn, so any chance I get to cheer on the Tigers I take it!
When it comes to Birmingham restaurants, what is your favorite restaurant and your favorite item on their menu?
GianMarcos. There is no denying my love for that restaurant especially the Wine Bar in the back! My favorite waiter, Josh, created a special just for me and Matt called the Hatt Special, which includes an order of the “Penne Vodka with Sausage” and “Chicken Parmesan” that Matt and I split happily then leave feeling the need to be wheeled out!
What is your favorite Weezie B. design?
I was so fortunate to be working here at Walls Media and Weezie B. Designs during our engagement, so we had a Weezie B. wedding! I couldn’t pick just one item from our wedding because I am so in love with each item that Weezie designed.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
ANYwhere near a beach is my happy place. I do not discriminate what beach, so long as there is ocean water and a chair that allows me to recline and bury my toes in the sand then you will find a happy girl. My dad calls me his sun worshiper daughter. However, my favorite vacation as of yet was our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico which is pictured below.
What outfit/article of clothing/hairstyle have you worn/done that you now regret?
Blue eyeliner??? I put question marks behind that because I am not sure what I was thinking when I put it on my eyes day after day for my whole sophomore year of high school. So many cute pictures ruined by a poor decision in makeup.
What is a secret wish of yours? Something that you have always wanted to try or do, but haven’t.
I have the worst possible singing voice that any one person can have, so my dream of being able to sing was squashed early. However, one dream that I have yet to attempt for fear that it might prove just as disappointing is being the drummer in a rock band. I can perfectly visualize myself in a rock band with a purple streak of hair!!
What are some things that you cannot live without? (excluding family, friends, God and Bible)?
- Mustard – I put mustard on anything and everything that will stand still.
- High heels – I love wearing heels, and I do not care what kind just as long as they are tall. I feel that heels give me better posture.
- Water bottle – I don’t have a specific kind of water bottle that I carry, but I always have water with me in some form.
- Red wine – No explanation needed.
- Teasing comb – Most people think that I carry this around with so that I can have big hair (which is mostly true), but I really do it because I have terrible cow licks and the only way to live with them is to tease them!
- Exercise – In some shape or form, I must exercise.
